With RVTools you can disconnect the cd-rom or floppy drives from the virtual machines and RVTools is able to update the VMware Tools installed inside each virtual machine to the latest version.

There are a number of other properties that RVTools can display, including

  • snapshot information
  • what CD-ROM and floppy drives are mounted to virtual machines
  • and a view of all of the MAC addresses assigned to the virtual machines

The RVTools interface also makes it easy to copy and paste data out of the tool, which is handy for documentation and troubleshooting.

Step 1: Install the RVTools and login either type the IP address or your FQDN of  your vCenter and then your username and password if your connected to Active Directory you can login by typing your domain

or if you login in your desktop using domain you can just simply click the ‘Use my Windows credentials’ then Login

Step 2: After you login this is what you will see there’s a lot of information  that you can get from here check each of the tab windows and export it to your .csv file or excel file.
